News - 3 BAFTAs for World Class British Studios
Pinewood and Shepperton Studios were both awarded a BAFTA during last night's ceremony for their Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema, with Pinewood Post's re-recording mixers Richard Pryke and Ian Tapp plus Glenn Freemantle and his team at Pinewood-based Sound 24 receiving the prestigious award for creating the Sound on Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire.

Comprising the best quality sound stages, a wealth of specialist production resources and easy access to the world's most experienced crews, both studios represent Europe's leading facilities where revered filmmakers continue to explore and challenge the art of what is possible on the silver screen.
Filmed in Mumbai, Danny Boyle selected one of the world's finest post production facilities and talented workforce based in England to create the sound for his 7 times BAFTA winning feature. Mixing took place in the newly refurbished Powell and Pressburger theatres at the Studios, part of a recent major overhaul enabling the Group's Post facilities to compete effectively on a global level. Having employed cutting-edge technology and installed a high speed connectivity network, Pinewood Post now offers a full range of services including colour grading, digital storage and delivery, digital mastering, workflow management in addition to its renowned re-recording, ADR and Foley capabilities.
Pinewood Post mixers Richard Pryke and Ian Tapp have also been Oscar-nominated for Achievement in Sound Mixing for 'Slumdog Millioniare' with Glenn Freemantle and Tom Sayer from Pinewood-based Sound 24, Oscar-nominated for Achievement in Sound Editing.
The OSCARs will take place on Febuary 22nd.
