News - James Cracknell & Ben Fogle - Antarctic epic

Double Olympic gold medallist James Cracknell, television presenter Ben Fogle and newcomer, doctor Ed Coats, set off on January 1 to try and beat five other teams to the winning post. 

Antarctica is the highest, driest, coldest and windiest place on Earth, twice the size of America and 58 times the size of Britain. 

Telegraph TV is following two teams in the first race for the South Pole since Captain Scott's expedition nearly 100 years ago. In a unique internet experiment, James Cracknell and Ben Fogle in Team QinetiQ and Mark Pollock in the South Pole Flag team will be sending exclusive audio reports and weekly column from the Antarctic on their progress in the Amundsen Omega 3 South Pole Race.
