News - Flt John Nichol - Rave Review!

The first the world saw of Flight Lieutenant John Nichol was as a tortured Gulf War British prisoner of war, beaten and humiliated by Iraqis, when he was shot down and held in solitary confinement alongside his fellow POW’s.
The traumatic weeks of capture which ensued, gave John a unique insight into the human capacity to deal with adversity and change. Partly as a result of his own outgoing personality, partly as a result of the experience itself, John Nichol is now able to present a fascinating insight into what happens when our innermost reserves are tested by external demands.

Not bad for a Crab...!
Seriously though, an excellent talk which was the highlight of the day for everyone, judging by the evening's conversation.
The questions asked were a good indicator of the attention and interest that you generated and there was plenty of food for thought for everyone there.
I personally enjoyed it and got a lot out of it and think that the idea of letting the listeners draw their own messages worked well.
Many thanks for the book and the talk and best wishes for the future from the Senior Service.
NB: "crab" is an 'endearing insult' from the Navy to the RAF!

Sorry that I had to dash off yesterday without thanking you personally.
I thought that your speech/presentation was absolutely fantastic - and how you manage to include so much humour into such an ordeal is testament to your strength of character and professionalism as an orator. I truly enjoyed listening to your story and from the buzz around the dining room later that evening know that the trainees felt the same.
Once again, thank you very much for speaking for us yesterday and all the very best in everything you do in the future.
